CONSTITUTION OF THE SOUTHERN

ARIZONA HARLEY RIDERS

ESTABLISHED JUNE 4, 1992 - REVISED MAY 1, 1996

PREAMBLE

UNDETERRED WITH THE LOSS OF THEIR HOG CHARTER, THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTHERN ARIZONA HOG CHAPTER DECIDED TO CONTINUE THEIR ENJOYMENT OF MOTORCYCLING AS A HARLEY RIDING CLUB.

CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE I – NAME AND AFFILIATION

The name of this motorcycle club shall be the SOUTHERN ARIZONA HARLEY RIDERS, hereafter referred to as “SAHR” or “the club”, and is affiliated by charter with the AMERICAN MOTORCYCLIST ASSOCIATION, hereafter referred to as “AMA”.

ARTICLE II – PURPOSE

The purpose of this club is to enjoy all aspects of the sport of motorcycling, while maintaining the respect of the community and supporting the aims and goals of the AMA.

ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP

The members shall consist of active, inactive, life and honorary members. Active, inactive, and life members shall be members in good standing with the AMA and SAHR.

ARTICLE IV – OFFICERS

The officers shall be elected by the members and shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Road Captain, and Sergeant at Arms.

ARTICLE V – MEETINGS

Regular meetings will be held each month convening at a prior designated place and time. Special meetings may be convened as required.

ARTICLE VI – COMMITTEES

The committees within SAHR shall consist of standing and special committees.

ARTICLE VII – ELECTIONS

Regular elections shall be held annually. Special elections may be held any time deemed necessary.

ARTICLE VIII – AMENDMENT OF CONSTITUTION

Amendments to the constitution may be voted on at the annual election.

ARTICLE IX – BY-LAWS

The By-Laws of SAHR shall be the governing laws of the club.

ARTICLE X – DISPOSITION OF ASSETS

The disposition of club assets upon dissolution of the club shall be as follows. After all club expenses have been paid, any remaining assets shall be donated to a charitable organization.
